4th of July Flag Cake

Flag Cake – So easy a kid could do it – and they did.

As we approach this 4th, this is worth sharing again..

I always find a way to incorporate food and a child’s craft as much as possible.  Our Kids in the Kitchen projects are always fun.  This 4th of July we’re making a Flag Cake.  We did a little test run and thought we’d share.  It’s an excellent way to get the children involved – and learn a bit about our history (and even discussed numbers and shapes).

The following flag cake is easy.  Take a boxed white cake (or try this sheet cake recipe), top with whipped topping, and add blueberries and strawberries.  There you have a holiday flag cake that your kids will enjoy making as much as they will eating.  Guaranteed.
