Live in the Vineyard: A Weekend of Wine and Music
A Last Minute Trip Revitalizes Love of Music
Imagine my surprise when I learned that I was a Grand Prize Winner in the Live in the Vineyard Sweepstakes: an all-expenses paid trip for two to Napa Valley for a weekend of live music, wine, and fun. I entered the contest on a whim while standing in line at the Downtown Orlando Food and Wine Fest, and, before I knew it, I was packing my bags and headed to Northern California.
The weekend’s events included a wine tasting with several local vineyards, a series of concerts for contest winners and VIPs, and a food demonstration. Highlights included a private concert by Richard Marx at the Beringer Vineyards, and seeing Jason Mraz live in concert at Napa’s Uptown Theatre. We were also introduced to some new up-and-comers, including Meiko, Mayer Hawthorne, and Susan Justice. The event concluded with a cooking demonstration, and I ended my trip with an overnight detour to San Francisco before I begrudgingly made my way back to the East Coast.
Live in the Vineyard revitalized my interest in music, and I look forward to making a return visit to the wineries.
Disclosure: I won this trip. No compensation was exchanged, except some free tickets for me personally and many glasses of wine.
